Foster Heading Mile-High for West Coast Redemption May 29, 2007
San Francisco, CA
Ryan Foster, the Richard Childress Development Driver from Anderson, CA, is on his way to
Colorado to run the 6th race of the Grand National Series. The Midwest combo races didn't
end up providing the opportunity Foster needed to prove his mettle against the East Coast
runners. After spending a week with Richard Childress, Harvick, Boyer and Earnhardt
readying for the Elko MN race, a provisional qualifying bumped Foster from the show.
Determined to prove a point 2 days later Foster made the show at the Iowa Speedway but
qualified a disappointing 33rd after being granted only one qualifying lap. As at Altamont
the car suffered flat tires which forced unscheduled pit stops which cost Foster to lose a
lot of time, but, being the consumate competitor he charged back to an 8th place finish.
Golden Gate and RCR Development teammate Tim McCreadie ran one step ahead of the #21
qualifying in at the 32 spot and finishing the race in the 7th spot.
This weekend, June 02, Foster and the Golden Gate Racing Team will be a mile high running
in the NAPA 150 at the Colorado National Speedway. Going in 12th in the points standings
this will be an opportunity for the rookie to regain a top ten ranking and start back on
track to a championship. Foster is confident that the Golden Gate team will optimize his
car for the rather unqiue conditions of this track. This classic 3/8th mile track has a 44
year history of unforgettable racing. At an elevation of over 5000 ft the oxygen content
and reduced air pressure has to be calculated into fuel mixtures, tire inflation, and a
dozen other factors that contribute a winning car. Born and bred on short tracks, Foster
should take the tight oval by storm.
"I'm hoping to show our sponsors that we really are able to run upfront and win
against the other teams. With trouble which has plagued us hopefully behind us, we should
have the complete package it will take to get the win." Said the confident Foster.
With new sponsor support from the Bay Biodiesel and Golden Gate Petroleum companies there
is a renewed excitement in the air for the future. Foster continues, "Golden Gate,
Jim Offenbach and of course Richard Childress Racing have stabled a committed group of
sponsors for the 2007 season who are dedicated to the kind of support a team at this level
needs." Special thanks go out to Chase Chevrolet, Corte Madera Tow, Roto-Rooter, Food
Comm International, Economy Propane and all the sponsors.
